B1 · Legal and documentary

Legal validity, with legal judgment behind it

Signed by an authorised sworn translator, reviewed by a corporate lawyer. The same person does both, and that is the service.

The same delay under four different names

At a corporate law firm, putting associates on hundreds of pages of translation costs a fortune in billable hours, and the outside agency takes weeks the matter does not have.

In pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, the health registration requires sworn translation of dossiers, free-sale certificates, good-manufacturing certificates, labelling and inserts. An error or a delay in translation stops the product from selling.

At a customs agency, manifests and bills of lading arrive on deadlines that do not forgive, in constant volume.

At a bank, correspondent banking and due diligence documentation needs validity and demonstrable confidentiality, not just a correct translation.

Two human reviews. The machine does not sign.

  1. Intake and quote

    The same day.

  2. Preparation and base translation

Through an assisted internal flow, using the client's glossary.

  3. First review

    Technical and terminology.

  4. Second review

    Legal and fidelity.

  5. Signature and seal

With the formalities of sworn translation.

  6. Delivery and archiving

Encrypted, with an agreed retention period.

That flow is what allows delivery in 48 to 72 hours of volumes the market takes weeks over. Machine assistance speeds up the base translation. It does not sign, does not review and does not decide.

What we translate

Corporate and legal: contracts, corporate bylaws and policies, judgments, arbitral awards, notarial notices, registry documents.

Regulatory and clinical: health registration dossiers, free-sale certificates, medical device documentation, clinical records, inserts and labelling.

Financial: bank statements, credit bureau reports, due diligence documentation.

Foreign trade: manifests, bills of lading, certificates of origin, import documentation.

Personal and immigration: birth, marriage and death certificates, apostilles, university degrees and transcripts, employment and income letters, passports, immigration resolutions.

When it is already in English and still hurts

Some documents need no translation because they were drafted in English: contracts from head office, corporate policies, manuals. They need no translation, but they do need someone to confirm they say, in legal terms, what you believe they say.

The language audit checks terminology, internal consistency and legal consequence. It is fast, it carries a high margin, and it is the cheapest way in for anyone who swears they need nothing.

If you already ran it through AI, this is the gap

More documents now arrive already machine-translated and needing only review and certification. That service exists and is priced differently from translating from scratch.

What cannot happen is certifying without reading. A sworn translator's signature carries professional responsibility for the content, so the text is read in full however it arrives.

Quote a translation

The price of a translation is driven by volume, and volume can be counted before anyone talks. Count the pages here and the figure is on screen; the formal quote comes back the same day.

What you have to hand
In Word the count sits in the status bar. If you only have the PDF, count the pages.

The estimate includes tax. It excludes delivery and rush surcharges and does not apply negotiated discounts. The formal quote confirms the count, delivery, surcharges, discounts and its own validity period.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a translation sworn?

It is signed and certified by an authorised sworn translator, who attests that the translation is faithful to the original and is professionally answerable for it. In Guatemala the role is governed by Decree 251 of 1879 and its reforms, and the qualification is processed before the Departmental Directorates of Education under Ministerial Agreement 1292-2009.

What does it cost?

Q 135 per standard page of 250 words, tax included; delivery extra. It is the only rate this firm publishes, because it is the only service whose volume can be counted before starting. 24-hour delivery carries a Q75 surcharge per page; immediate delivery, Q150 per page. Availability is confirmed before work starts. Discounts are negotiated per quote, and each quote states its own validity.

How long does it take?

48 to 72 hours for volumes the market takes weeks over, and same-day or next-day for recurring document types such as customs paperwork. 24-hour delivery carries a Q75 surcharge per page; immediate delivery, Q150 per page. Availability is confirmed before work starts.

Do you use artificial intelligence?

Yes, for the base translation, and we say so openly. It then passes two human reviews and the sworn translator's signature. The machine speeds things up. It does not sign.

What happens to the confidentiality of my documents?

Encrypted repository, access limited to the two partners, a documentary confidentiality agreement as part of the service, and agreed destruction or return of originals.

Can you handle sustained high volume?

That is what the retainer is for: a monthly page allowance at a preferential rate with a committed turnaround, with overage billed separately. It is how law firms and customs agencies work with us.
